X scheduler for posts and threads, with credits you can see
UniPostudio is an X (Twitter) scheduler for posts and threads. The composer counts characters the way X does, splits long text into a thread, and shows how many X post credits a post will use before you schedule it.
X charges UniPostudio for every post published through its API, and more for a post with a link. So X is the one channel where posts are metered. This page explains exactly how.
What you can schedule on X
- Single posts up to 280 weighted characters.
- Threads: long text is split at word boundaries, up to 270 characters per post. No numbering is added, and media goes on the first post.
- Up to 4 attachments per post, with alt text.
X post credits, plainly
X’s API is pay-per-use with no free tier, and X charges far more for a post with a link. UniPostudio passes that on as monthly X post credits, rather than raising every plan’s price.
- A post costs 1 credit.
- A post with a link costs 13 credits, because X charges $0.20 for it against $0.015 for a post without one.
- Each post of a thread counts. A five-post thread with no links uses 5 credits.
- Classic includes 150 credits a month, Pro 450 and Agency 1,500. Unused credits do not carry over.
- Credits are reserved when you schedule, in the month the post publishes, and given back if the post never goes out.
- The composer shows what a post will use before you schedule it.
Posts on every other channel are unlimited on every plan.

X’s rules, handled for you
- Weighted character counting, with every URL counted as 23 characters, as X counts them.
- Unicode-aware counting, so Arabic, Hindi or Malayalam text is measured correctly.
- An X-only caption, so you can keep a shorter version for X while LinkedIn or Facebook get the long one.
How to schedule X posts
- Connect: open Channels, choose X and sign in. UniPostudio refreshes X’s short-lived tokens for you.
- Compose: write the post once and add media. AI captions can draft it.
- Fit the caption: open the X tab to shorten the text or turn it into a thread. Check the credit count shown there.
- Schedule: pick a time or drag it on the calendar, next to your other channels.
X DMs and replies in the inbox
Direct messages arrive in the social inbox. Since February 2026, X lets apps reply through the API only to posts that mention or quote your account, so those are what UniPostudio can answer publicly.
AI replies can draft every answer. Automatic sending covers only DMs and posts that @mention your brand, and only after you confirm the account carries X’s “Automated” label. Each automated reply is disclosed as AI.
X analytics
Analytics show the metrics X reports for each post, including link clicks for recent posts where X allows it. History is 90 days on Classic and Pro, one year on Agency.
What it does not do yet
- Editing a published post: X’s API does not allow apps to edit posts.
- Unlimited X posts: X posts are metered by credits on every plan.

Why does a post with a link cost 13 credits?
X charges UniPostudio $0.20 for a post with a URL and $0.015 for one without. Thirteen credits reflects that difference.
Does every post in a thread use a credit?
Yes. Each post of a thread is a separate post to X, so each one counts: 1 credit, or 13 if it has a link.
What happens if I run out of X post credits?
You cannot schedule more X posts that month, and the composer tells you before you try. Your other channels are not affected. Credits renew monthly and do not carry over.
Do I get credits back if a post fails?
Yes. Credits are reserved when you schedule and given back if the X post never goes out.
Can UniPostudio edit a post after it is published?
No. X’s API does not let apps edit posts. Delete and repost on X if you need a change.
Can AI reply to my X mentions automatically?
Only to DMs and posts that @mention your brand, and only after you confirm the account carries X’s “Automated” label. Every automated reply is disclosed as AI.
